Email newsletters are a form of marketing by which business' send promotions, updates, and value-add information to current and potential customers over email. These newsletters are sent on a regular basis, such as weekly, monthly, or seasonally.
Why are email newsletters important?
When used properly, email newsletters can be a powerful marketing and communication tool. There are three main functions of a well-designed email newsletter:
They inform readers about time sensitive information, such as sales and promotions
They allow you to develop a unique relationship with your readers by keeping them up-to-date with changes in your business and providing value-add information, such as tips and articles related to your product or service offerings
They helps keep you top of mind, so when they are ready to purchase the product or service you offer, your business will be the first one they think of
How I can help
I have experience helping business' in a range of industries use email newsletters as a marketing tool to connect with their customers.
To help your business leverage the power of email newsletters, I can work with you to develop a newsletter content schedule that includes sales and promotions, topics for value-add blogs and articles, and send dates. Once the content schedule has been confirmed, I will independently research and write the content for the newsletters and build them using MailChimp, a best-practice email marketing tool. Once the newsletter is built, you will have the opportunity to review and make suggestions before it is sent. I know many people are concerned with the legality of sending email newsletters, especially with the Canadian Anti-Span Legislation (CASL) that came into effect in 2014. Since its implementation, I have experience working within the parameters of CASL and know what is required for an email newsletter to abide by its regulations.
